This would have been their last view of the lagoon. Infront of that is the Ponte Della Paglia so named because barges loaded with straw (Paglia) used to moor here.
There is a gondola and sailing boat. The other depicts a small canal with a gondolier and the late afternoon sun casting a warm glow over the canal and the Palazzo to the left. Indistinctly signed with initials lower left, presented within their original glazed frames. One picture is missing the glass, both scene bear gold mounts which were very popular in the 19. Minor losses to the frames.
Two lasting memories of one of the worlds best loved cities. Size to include frames H48cm L34.5cm Images only: H30cm L16cm.
