Lalique Grand Ducs Crystal Vase 9.5 Tall, MINT, Signed, Gorgeous, Authentic

  
This is Lalique's magnificent Grand Ducs Vase. This is a very sophisticated and elegant vase designed by Marie Claude Lalique. It is a large flower vase measuring just over 9.5 inches tall and 7.5 inches in diameter at the top. The base measures 4.5 inches square.

It weighs 6 pounds 3 ounces. See our photo of the vase alongside a coffee mug for a sense of size and scale.

Lalique's legendary quality is immediately apparent. It has that classic Lalique look of satinized or frosted glass contrasting with sparkling and ultra transparent clear crystal. The bowl of the vase is blown clear crystal. It sits atop a molded base featuring four horned owls.

It is an exquisite vase perfectly executed and in mint condition. I could find no chips, fleabites, scratches, bruises, scuffs, repairs, or other signs of damage. Has scratch protecting pads on the bottom.

The Grand Duc Vase is retired, rare, and hard to find. All photos are my own. René Lalique founded the company and managed it until WWII. He died in 1945 and was succeeded by his son Marc.

Marcs first big decision was to switch the formula from 12% lead demi crystal to 24% lead crystal. This made the products much brighter, sparkling, more transparent, and much heavier. This vase takes great advantage of this cyrstal and displays beautifully. We do not have the original Lalique box.
